We have also seen a Falcon or Swamp Harrier fly up the valley.

At various times  Black Tern, White-fronted and common tern show off down by the fire station.

A little further afield spot the brilliant white plumage of the Royal spoonbills and Pied stilts in Pāuatahanui Inlet. The Eastern Bar-tailed Godwit is a spectacular migrant that breeds in north-eastern Siberia and migrates south every northern winter; a few of these have come to the Inlet.
